Sax ProShop Buescher Big B Baritone 346xxx We’re restoring this Big B Bari to its original glory and more! In addition to several modifications, this bari will get our signature satin silver finish with gold wash in the bell. We decided to add adjustment screws to the C and F# backbars. To do this, Josh Grant had to fabricate entirely new bars, because the original ones did not allow for enough clearance. This photo shows Josh about to tap a hole for one of the screws. Here they are, all finished: We discovered that the neck tenon is cracked. Josh Grant made a new tenon and it’s waiting to be installed. Side C and High E got these snazzy key contacts. Super straight guards. Key fitting is well on its way for this bari. The brass-jawed parallel pliers in action. This bari was missing the neck octave key. Josh Grant used his amazing skills to fabricate a new one from scratch. Prepped for the engraver. We will keep the original design and ask the engraver to add some embellishments on the bow. What little of the engraving is left… This bell just came back from the engraver! Next we’ll reattach the bell! Making final key fitting adjustments before moving on to dry fitting.
