Buescher Aristocrat Sopranos are hard to find and a real joy to play. We’re really excited about working on Jake’s soprano because he’s having us do anything and everything to make it the absolute best! That includes a complete redesign of the Left Hand Pinky Table.
Here are pictures from the Uberhaul:
The old LH pinky table was difficult to use.
During the redesign, showing the G# at the original angle compared to the new angle of the C#, B, and Bb.
In this photo, the new LH pinky table is adjusted to function correctly. The finishing touches will be added later in the Uberhaul.
Another big modification is the Front F. The problems with many “after market” Front F keys on sopranos are that they can be in the way, or can feel clunky because of lost motion. This slick mechanism is adjustable, with a clean and smooth range of motion.
Other great modifications we were able to do include adding a foot to the top stack A key. This modification allows the A key height to be set independently of the bis Bb and the G, which would otherwise be interdependent.
A contact for the high E was added to give it a solid feel.
This neck had been bent down at some point, and was soldered back on at an incorrect angle and still out-of-round. We’ll be adding a neck brace once we restore it to its natural state.

He’s had it back in a few times for COAs and the last time, a replate. Here are those shots:
