David’s Conn 10M Tenor Quoting time! David recently acquired this tenor and is now getting it Uberhauled. Using our new Foredom Motor and one of the cool Rotary Attachments to clean up the solder joint on the new neck receiver. An in-between shot of the horn! The receiver is fixed and the body and dent work is complete. Close-up of the new receiver. The old receiver. Conns have these unique bumper holders. We removed the one on the Low C guard… …to make the Low C key open up enough. Here is the new bumper holder, mounted directly on the pad cup. We’ll add epoxy coated cork palm key risers! We’ll also refinish all of the brass key touches. David asked us to install Saxgourmet pads with seamless domed metal resos. These pads are level and the horn is ready to be set up. Dave opted to add our cork palm key risers. The first step is to sculpt a space for the key. The finished risers! They are coated with epoxy for durability and a nice feel. This tenor is finished and rockin’.
