My Bari in the shop for a overhaul. Finally! I can’t wait. I’m going to put seamless domed metal resos on. I like the ones we have, they are plated as a final process, rather than plated and then cut, so they don’t tarnish even around the edges.
All the parts are straight and just need to be put back together.
The second brace made from scratch and ready to install.
Coming back together. No bell to body braces yet but man, is it looking straight and true. Can’t wait.
Got the second X brace installed. Operation: “Indestructible” is well under way.
Two X braces are better than one.
Pickled braces, my favorite!
Matt made two new crook braces. The ones that were on the horn weren’t originals and no longer fit once everything was straightened out.
The braces are in their places on the crook. A new phase of Operation: Indestructible complete! We’ll be making use of our electroplating station once everything is back together.
The original Palm F key:
Matt fabricated a new lever and key to replace the original, super long palm F key.
Here, you can see that we added an adjustment screw and an arm to the new F key, which eliminated the need for an F Rocker.
Mods are done, body and parts are straight, the ‘overhaul’ is finally starting… Keys are getting cleaned and headed to key fitting!
All the Kings Horses and all the Kings men have nothing on Matt and Dan.
Leveled tone holes and a lot of hand polishing!
Might be ready for Sundays gig!
New Updates in 2012! Sliding F# adjustment screw in progress:
